Parents, Our Houghton Lake Sports Boosters and Houghton Lake Rotary organizations have partnered this year on their annual Camel Races. With the proceeds of this event going to these two amazing organizations who consistently show up to support our students, we wanted to do our part to spread the word on this awesome event!!! Cost to attend is $25 per person and full tables of 10 can be purchased in advance. See the attached flyer for details!!! 💚🖤🤍

🏐 Bobcat Pride Alert! 🏐 The Houghton Lake JV Volleyball team traveled to Oscoda today for an all-day tournament — and they made a statement! The Bobcats battled their way to first place in their bracket, then powered into tournament play. They absolutely crushed the competition and played like true champions, showing heart, hustle, and teamwork every step of the way. After grinding through five straight sets, the Bobcats faced Lake City in the finals. The Bobcats gave it everything they had and proudly brought home 2nd place overall. These athletes showed exactly what it means to be a team, and each one of them stepped up as a leader today. 👊 Way to represent, Bobcats! HLHS HOCO: NEON NIGHTS!!!

HLCS staff has been participating in Process Communication Model training the past few days as we prepare to welcome back our students next week! Used by many Fortune 500 companies, PCM aims to improve communication by recognizing our social strengths and needs along with those of others. We're excited to take this reflection and practice to the classroom this school year. We can't wait to see you all tonight for our Community Open House from 5:00-6:30!!!

Braving the heat, the HLHS Marching Band and Flag Corps have dedicated this week of their summer to preparing for fall marching season!!! Led by Mr. Kuchek, a contingent of over 30 Bobcat performers have been drilling and performing. We can't wait to see them take the field at halftime of our first home varsity contest on September 5th!!! #BobcatPride #BobcatNation 💚🖤🤍

MS Track had their end of year banquet last night...and what a night it was!!! Pizza and cookies were eaten, great conversation and reflection on the season was had, and so many awards were given out. This year saw 9 MS records broken, 7 first place event finishes in the conference, countless PR's, and a lot of hard work and dedication was shown by the entire team! A huge shoutout to Coach Livingstone, Coach Grencz, Coach Abel, and all of our MS Track athletes!!!

Community partnerships bring us #BobcatPride! STEM was pleased to make 8th grade graduation banners for the 2025 OLLS graduating class. These great keepsakes are timeless mementos, and we are excited to see some future Bobcats in the group. This is just one of the many services HLHS Stem offers our community. Three weeks ago, our 7th graders were learning about the volcanoes in the Ring of Fire, and their curiosity erupted! 🌋 A few asked if they could make volcano models, and their enthusiasm sparked a hands-on opportunity to keep them engaged and excited about science through the end of the year. We explored volcanoes from around the world, learned how they've impacted civilizations throughout history, and some students even used knowledge from earlier in the year to create their own eruptions using chemical reactions! 🔥🌎 #BobcatPride #ScienceRocks

STEM is live!!! Mr. Bunn and his students created a Google site to continue spreading the word about all of the great things our STEM class is doing. It has a readily available chatbot to answer questions, provides insight and information on how to order from STEM, and shows the student progress taking place in this area.
