HLHS could not be more proud of our dual enrollment partnership with Kirtland Community College. Countless HLHS students have earned college credits during their high school years while saving a significant amount of money through this partnership. We are proud of MaKenna and our dual enrollment students for their academic pursuits.
If you have any questions on how dual enrollment works, contact Mrs. Sidelko and Mrs. Sergeant, and they'll help you craft a plan.

Houghton Lake Jr./Sr. High School would like to give a huge thank you to Terry Hessbrook and the B#4 foundation for their presentation today.
Terry presented on his son, Brady, with a focus on empowering students to seek help when struggling with mental health concerns.
This powerful message captivated our 7th-12th grade audience, and we are grateful for the community partnerships that made it possible. A big thank you to the Roscommon County Sheriff's office and their Victim Services Unit for organizing and funding this powerful presentation.

Houghton Lake had the honor of hosting 15 schools for an incredible Leadership Summit today. Students spent the day learning what real leadership looks like through planning, problem solving, teamwork, and hands-on activities. They rotated through sessions, took on challenges in the gym, and explored why strong student leadership matters so much in our schools!!
Student Senators from Houghton Lake High School stepped up in a huge way. They led groups from across the region and helped younger students understand how to be the kind of leaders who make a difference, the kind of leaders who are strong, kind, friendly, inclusive, and confident in who they are. 6th-8th grade students from Collins Elementary and the Jr./Sr. High School got to collaborate on a vision for leadership in our middle grades.
It was an amazing day for learning, growing, and celebrating the future of student leadership. We’re so proud of our Bobcats and so grateful for every school that joined us!!
A great day to be a Houghton Lake Bobcat and an even brighter future ahead!!!
