Houghton Lake JR/SR High School

Friday, October 30th...Jr. HS Activity Night!!!

Picture Retake Day is November 9th!

We have had an update to the Macho Man Volleyball date. Macho Man will now take place Monday, October 12th to accommodate all of our students' schedules.

💚🖤 THANK YOU, KEN BITTNER & THE BITTNER AGENCY! 🖤💚 Houghton Lake Jr./Sr. High School would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to Ken Bittner and the Bittner Agency of Farm Bureau Insurance for their generous sponsorship of the Arrive Alive Tour, held at HLHS on Thursday, October 8th! Thanks to this sponsorship, our students have the opportunity to experience an engaging, hands-on educational program focused on the dangers of distracted, impaired, and drugged driving. Through a state-of-the-art driving simulator, students can experience the potential consequences of dangerous driving behaviors in a safe, controlled environment. This powerful experience reinforces the importance of making responsible decisions behind the wheel. Programs like the Arrive Alive Tour are about more than driver education. They are about saving lives, protecting our students, and helping young people make decisions that keep our entire community safe. We are incredibly grateful to Ken Bittner and his agency for investing in the safety and well-being of our students. We also appreciate UNITE's Arrive Alive Tour and the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning for their partnership in bringing this important message to HLHS. Thank you, Ken, for your continued commitment to our students and the Houghton Lake community! 💚 BOBCAT PRIDE! 🖤 #HoughtonLakeBobcats #ArriveAliveTour #FarmBureauInsurance #ThankYou #StudentSafety #BeDifferent

🏀💚 THANK YOU, WESCO! 💚🏀

A huge Bobcat shoutout to Wesco Houghton Lake Store 29 for their generous $250 donation to Houghton Lake Basketball!

This donation will directly support our young athletes by providing 10 scholarships for elementary students to attend the HL Bobcat Basketball Camp on October 24th. Because of Wesco’s generosity, these students will have the opportunity to learn, compete, have fun, and grow their love for the game.

We are incredibly grateful to have community partners who continue to invest in our kids and our programs.

Thank you, Wesco, for supporting the next generation of Bobcats! 🏀🐾💚

Our 7th graders absolutely crushed the classic Rainbow Lab! 🌈🧪They practiced their metric measurement skills by carefully mixing colors to try to create a perfect gradient.

It is definitely harder than it looks—one tiny mistake with the graduated cylinder completely changes the final result. So proud of our future scientists and their awesome teamwork! 👏

HLCS is looking to add a new member to our team!

Macho Volleyball and Powderpuff are back!!!

The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth has changed the process for obtaining a work permit. See the attached flyer for details!

HLHS certainly doesn't allow running in the halls, but that doesn't mean these two aren't ready to race!!! Swing by the HLHS office to support HLCS and the RCSD camels as they prep for October 3rd's Camel Race fundraiser! 💚🖤🤍

The HL Athletic Department would like to give a big thank you to Bella Beaver and Mercedes Kushmaul. Bella and Mercedes gave Mr. Ed U. Cation a quick makeover before his big race at this year's Rotary/HL Sports Boosters Camel Races!

Happy IT Professionals Day!

Mr. Sawicki, Mr. Hile, and Mr. Marra keep us connected every single day. We are incredibly thankful for their efforts! If you see them please make sure you give them a shoutout!

Picture Day is Friday!
