On April 24th & 25th, the Bobcat Forensics Team traveled to Eastern Michigan University for the State Finals Tournament. Schools from across the state bring their top two qualifying competitors in each category to compete. The Bobcats brought 8 total competitors in 6 different categories. The team, made entirely of freshmen, competed fiercely against veterans from across the state.
Despite the Bobcats not having any finalists, their combined scores led to Houghton Lake High School earning 4th Place Class C/D School! This is a HUGE testament to the competitors skills and ability to hold their own against more seasoned competitors.

Coach Hinkston had this to say about their season: "I could not be more proud of the work these kids have put in. Their talent and work ethic just blow me away. Many of them have been doing this since they were in 7th grade, and to see their growth and progress over the years has been truly incredible. If this is how they start their high school forensics careers, I cannot wait to see how far they will go!"
