Houghton Lake JR/SR High School

Five students at Houghton Lake High School who had attended the Rotary District 6290 Life Leadership Conference (LLC) in recent years held at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, shared their conference experiences with students of the Rotary Interact Club through a presentation panel on April 15, 2026.

Braelynn Barnes (J), Madyson Bovey (J), Dakota Bertram (J), Andrew Partenio (Se), and Qiaden Lindsey (J), pictured in the attached photos, were sincere in their willingness to share key takeaways from their attendance at the 4-day/3-night leadership conference they attended in respective years with over 100 other teenagers from areas of Michigan, Canada, and other countries represented by Rotary Exchange Students hosted in the District. Some of the presenters expanded on how they have implemented their new-found skills at their school, in work places, and in the community, and projected how their skill set would be used to benefit them and others throughout their lives.

Juniors and Sophomore members of the Rotary Interact Club were highly encouraged to apply for selection to the upcoming conference held in June, where qualified students would be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Houghton Lake.
