Houghton Lake Track & Field took over Charlevoix at the Regional Finals — and we’re bringing a squad to STATE!
The Bobcats showed out with medals, PRs, and big-time performances across the board. Let’s run it back:
REGIONAL CHAMPS
Julia Sergeant, Morgan Plutt, Holley Hendershott & Aysia Bailey torched the track in the 800m relay — 1st place and STATE bound!
DOUBLE TROUBLE
That same crew locked in 2nd place in the 400m relay — another trip to the finals!
JULIA SERGEANT was on a mission:
• 2nd in Pole Vault
• 2nd in 100m Hurdles
• Double state qualifier and all-around weapon.
MORGAN PLUTT defended her crown as Regional Champ in the 300m Hurdles — two years in a row. Ice cold.
HOLLEY HENDERSHOTT had a breakout day full of PRs and state-qualifying finishes in both the 100m and 200m dash. Game changer.
AYSIA BAILEY snagged 5th in the 100m with a huge PR and earned herself a medal — clutch performance.
On the boys side:
• Both the 4x1 and 4x2 relays dropped PRs and finished top 5 — speed on display.
• Dylan Skocelas brought home a medal in High Jump — getting UP!
• Kane Graham, in only his 3rd time EVER running the 300 hurdles, took runner-up and qualified for state. Then turned around and grabbed 3rd in the 110 hurdles — only his 2nd time running that race. Natural talent on full display.
