Welcome to Houghton Lake Community Schools.
Houghton Lake is located in the middle of Michigan's lower peninsula and surrounds Michigan's largest inland lake. The district covers 550 square miles and is comprised of 12 townships. Residents and visitors greatly enjoy all forms of four season outdoor recreational and sporting activities.
The district currently serves approximately 1300 students, pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, as well as an alternative education program, in four school buildings.
